FONAR SELLS AND INSTALLS 14TH UPRIGHT MRI IN FLORIDA TO FIRST CUSTOMER IN TAMPA CUSTOMER EXPECTS TO PURCHASE SECOND MRI WITHIN THE YEAR MELVILLE, NEW YORK, September 22, 2005 - FONAR Corporation (NASDAQ-FONR), The MRI Specialist™, announced today that it has sold and installed an Upright™ MRI in Tampa, Florida to STAND-UP MRI of Tampa.
“We are pleased to be the first in Tampa to offer this revolutionary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system,” said Joe McCandrew, Operations Manager and an owner of STAND-UP MRI of Tampa. “Surveys taken at Upright™ MRI centers indicate that patients truly appreciate the latest invention from FONAR which is the company that first created a commercial MRI. Numerous physicians have said that they hold the Upright™ MRI in high regard because a diagnosis may often only be made in the weight-bearing position of pain or symptom.
